Dr. Sadeka Shakour completed her undergraduate studies in Interior Design, and obtained a Master’s degree and PhD in the same specialization from Helwan University in Cairo.
She has over 35 years of academic experience in the Middle East. Her interests focus on Interior Design, Textiles and Space Planning in addition to Furniture Design.
Dr. Sadeka organized several student competitions, and exhibitions, and won several awards in Interior Design.
She taught across different universities in the Middle East in the Department of Interior design, including Helwan University in Egypt, Ajman University in the United Arab Emirates and finally in the Department of Architecture and Design at Abu Dhabi University as an Associate Professor and an interior design program coordinator.
Dr. Sadeka is also extensively engaged in research work and publications, both authored or co-authored. Her research interests include technical & design publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings in the areas of contemporary furniture design & postmodern furniture. She also completed a number of collaborative research projects in various areas*.
In the present time, Dr. Sadeka is residing in Egypt and currently a professor in Helwan University in the Faculty of Applied Arts & a professor in MSA University in the College. of Art & Design.

Design talk 1:
Interior design alumni Hiba Kilani interior designer/artist and Aya Hammash interior designer/teaching assistant, gave a workshop on trying out different medias and ways to add your own touch to interior spaces. During the workshop, the students experimented with the latest social media trends in crafts furniture and design, and tried out different methods using resin to create beautiful accessories for interior spaces.

Workshop with Malak Ibrahim on rendering techniques for furniture sketches in different and fun methods using many types of colors, like water colors, pastel colors, wood pencil colors and markers.
